A small cross section of people brought together to provide feedback on marketing ideas and products.
Footnote
A footnote is for reference citations and supplementary information that appears at the bottom of a book page. A reader’s attention is usually directed to a footnote through the use of a superscript character. See endnote.
Font
The typeset used in page design.
Foreword
An introduction to a book, usually written by someone other than the author of the book.
Formatting
Process by which a design team lays out a manuscript to create book pages. Text effect applied to characters to make them appear bold, italic, etc.
Four-color process
Using the major colors magenta, cyan, yellow and black to produce pictures in a range of colors.
Freelance
An independent contractor hired to work on a book, design or marketing plan.
Front matter
All of the pages in a book that appear before the body copy. Types of front matter include the title page, copyright page, dedication, table of contents, foreword, preface, acknowledgment, and introduction.
